What Are Tributes in Hunger Games?

In “The Hunger Games,” tributes are individuals selected to participate in a deadly competition. Each year, one male and one female from each of the 12 districts are chosen through a lottery system known as “The Reaping.” These tributes must then fight to the death in a controlled arena until only one remains. The selection process, training, and eventual battle make up the core elements of the story, showcasing themes of survival, sacrifice, and societal control. Winning the Hunger Games brings wealth and honor to the victor’s district, but it comes at a tremendous personal cost.
